I’m calling this year, the year of the pumpkin because they are everywhere and threating to take over. I keep snapping growths back to keep them from covering lettuce & stuff. Yes, better garden planning is in order next year and no more throwing pumpkins in the compost bin.
Hops! Little guy, but thriving.
Today’s harvest- Rainbow Swiss Chard & Zucchini. Thrown together with yesterday’s harvest of green beans & peas, a fistfull of garden fresh basil, oregano & parsely and an array of other veggies for Beef Vegetable Soup (cooked all day in the crockpot). It was supposed to be paired with yummy bread from the Farmer’s Market. Bread was one of the worst, most crumbly, saddest excuse for $5 bread I have had in a long time. Mike even asked “Are there any birds we hate that we could give this to?” Yeah, it was that bad.
