I ran 2 batches of sauerkraut and pickles this year. One batch of pickles wasn’t any good but both sauerkraut batches were successful as was the second round of pickles. I grew both red and green cabbage so I have some pink sauerkraut. The kids will eat the pickles but I am alone in my love of sauerkraut. The whole fam turns up their noses (literally, they can’t take the smell) of the delicious fermented cabbage. They will have to get used to it because I have recently purchased the book the Art of Fermentation so there will be a lot of controlled rotting of food in my home. The word kitchen is just another word for laboratory.
